Work with Us
About usRevision Courses Europe is a leading provider of intensive prep courses for the IB Diploma Programme. All our courses are based on our own student-to-student teaching concept which means we only employ IB graduates to teach our courses believing that the experience of having sat the exams will give an edge when teaching the IB curricula. We aim to make our courses something more than just educational – we strive to inspire and motivate our students. This year we offer our Easter courses at the Regent’s College in the UK and at Stockholm School of Economics in Sweden and our summer courses at Bradfield College in the UK and Sigtuna School in Sweden. We hire on a rolling basis in order to establish an active tutor pool. Our active tutor pool will be called upon to teach particular courses and/or privately tutor throughout the year. We also conduct several mandatory teacher training workshops throughout the year. Tutoring Winter and Spring Revision courses
Our Winter and Spring Revision courses last two days and give students a full
walkthrough of the syllabus. As a tutor you will be required to guide
students through your subject’s core syllabus highlighting important
topics, explaining difficult parts and demonstrating efficiency. The
tutoring should be complemented with exam practice and general advice
on how to structure ones revision for that subject.
Tutoring summer courses
Our summer courses last four days and are aimed at students who are
in the middle of the IB Diploma Programme (mid-IB courses) and at
students who are just about to embark on studying for their Diploma
(pre-IB courses). The mid-IB course requires you to review students’
first year knowledge and prime topics that they will encounter during
their final year. The pre-IB course requires all-round skills in the IB
subjects as you will introduce skills and concepts necessary for basic
success in all the subject groups of the hexagon.
Dates for coursesThis summer (2010) we will hold our courses between July 23rd and August 6th in Sweden and July 28th and August 11th in the UK. Winter 2011 and Spring 2011 dates will be released shortly but are slated for December/January and April around Easter respectively. More about tutoringTypical group size is around ten students and you will usually be expected to tutor for eight hours each day. You are expected to prepare and plan your classes by yourself although we and our experienced tutors will give you a lot of advice and pointers should you need so. For many subject we also provide supplementary material that will help you, which has been developed by previous tutors. Private TuitionYear-round we offer opportunities to tutor privately in different subject areas. As a one-on-one tutor, we expect you to have both the knowledge and patience to successfully encourage and guide your students through their materials. What we offer
First and foremost we offer a great opportunity for you to give
back to the IB community and having a fun time doing so. You will be
paid competitive wages and we reimburse travel and accommodation costs
that you might incur when tutoring for us. Having tutored for us also
provides a worthy addition to your CV.
What we expect of you
Naturally you will have completed your IB Diploma or IB Certificate
with top grades in the subject(s) you wish to tutor. Furthermore we
expect you to bring a positive outlook adding to the atmosphere at our
courses. We also expect you to possess the capability to communicate
knowledge in a friendly and effective way.
